Nova Scotia Habitat Conservation Fund

About this Form

The Habitat Conservation Fund was established under the Nova Scotia Wildlife Act (Wildlife Act (nslegislature.ca) to help protect and enhance wildlife habitats. This form is used to apply for a Habitat Conservation Fund grant. Habitat Conservation Fund grants are funded through the purchase of habitat stamps by Nova Scotia’s hunters and trappers. Project Budget and Activity Table:

Normally, projects are not funded for more than $25,000 ($50,000 for land acquisition). The Fund will subsidize projects on a cost-shared basis not to exceed 75% of total project cost. The Habitat Conservation Fund will not contribute to administration fees. Matching funding may include in-kind and/or financial resources, and letters of support from matching funders must accompany the application. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

A conflict of interest exists in any situation where the applicant or an immediate family member (parent, sibling, or child of an applicant who is an HCF Board of Directors or Department of Natural Resources and Renewables staff member) of the applicant of this fund is an employee (any person currently employed by the 3rd party administrator), a contractor or consultant of the Habitat Conservation Fund Board of Directors, or a Natural Resources and Renewables Departmental staff member involved in the tracking, inspecting, auditing, or approving of the program. A conflict of interest will not necessarily preclude funding of an applicant, but it must be disclosed by the applicant. If, at any time following the signing of the Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form, there occurs any material change to the information provided regarding the conflict of interest, either by way of addition or deletion, the applicant will file an amended Disclosure Form to the Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, Wildlife Division, Habitat Conservation Fund.
